Hi, I’m dr. rae underberg (they/them)
I primarily work with neurodivergent folks, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people practicing relationship anarchy or non-monogamy, and individuals navigating grief and loss. My approach is grounded in culturally responsive care that honors intersectionality and acknowledges the broader systems that shape our lives.
I'm passionate about supporting people through identity exploration, whether that’s related to gender, sexuality, relationship structure, or neurodivergence. If you are struggling with self-harm, chronic suicidal thoughts, trauma, eating concerns, depression, or anxious thoughts, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, understanding, and the tools to help you find your way forward.
My Approach
My style is active and collaborative. I’ll show up with curiosity and care, and I’ll always prioritize your autonomy and voice in the work we do together. I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), blending structured tools and practices with open-ended space for reflection, emotional processing, and deep connection.

identities i hold
Many prospective clients seek to work with a therapist who shares their identities and lived experiences, and I recognize that this contributes to feeling safe, seen, and understood by your provider. I currently identify in the following ways: white, queer, genderqueer, and neurodivergent. I have personal experience with non-monogamy and live with chronic pain and POTS.
offerings
I offer both virtual and in-person therapy for individuals and relationships, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling to meet your needs. In addition to therapy, I provide neuroaffirming psychological assessments for autism, as well as letters in support of gender-affirming surgeries.
personal life
Outside of therapy, I'm an affiliate instructor of psychology and full time nerd. I love to read, write, and listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and music. I find great joy in cooking and baking and if you can't find me in the kitchen, I'm likely outside walking, running, or riding my bike. I find the most meaning in my relationships with friends, family, and my cat, of course!
